| Kenpachi is the taichou of Division 11 which he had gained after killing the previous taishou in the duel. He has a wild and aggressive appearance. Unlike other taichou, Kenpachi does not know the name of his zanpakuto. Kenpachi is battle-oriented and lives only to fight with people who are strong. Kenpachi has an eye patch which he wears all the time to absorb most of his power so as to acquire more enjoyment by lengthening the fights. From surface, he appears self-centered, deep inside, he was caring for his lieutenant-Yachiru whom he had adopted like his daughter when she was only a baby. Kenpachi has no sense of direction and often loses his way while trying to hunt his fighting opponent. When he is not at fights, Kenpachi may be found lazing or dozing in the house. Despite his insensible appearance, Kenpachi is very sharp and accurate in judging a person. Despite his rough appearance as a tough fighter, Kenpachi is actually comical in the animes most of the time because of his no-sense-of-direction and his straight-forward replies to his subordinates. |
